A new day, a new month, a new year!
In years past, I would make a long list of resolutions that I would rarely keep and then proceed to feel guilty about not following through with my intentions.  Not exactly a process that produced change.  A couple of years ago I determined that I would choose a single word that would be my “theme” for the duration of the coming year.  I have discovered that it is so much easier to focus on living in accordance with just one word rather than trying to satisfy a long list of goals.  So, after much prayer and consideration, my word for 2012 is PEACE!  As a reminder of all the attributes of my “word,” I have written this little haiku:
Peace
calm, restful, wholeness
safe, healthy, prosperous, still
complete harmony!
While studying and contemplating during this past week, I was reminded of this verse: “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace.  And be thankful.” ~Colossians 3:15  Such wonderful wisdom from God’s word as I prepare to “go out with joy and be led forth with peace.” (Isaiah 55:12)
Welcome 2012!
