Today I was busy embracing life,
I almost forgot to write,
So I’ll give you a tiny summary
As eve turns into night.

I took a little road trip
With my dear hubby in tow,
Off to see our college girl
In eastern Idaho.

Eating, shopping, laughing,
Catching up was done,
Then cheering at the football game,
I wish our team had won.

We finished with a cello recital
So beautiful and rare,
Then one last hug and wave goodbye,
It’s hard to leave her there.

We’re on our way back home now,
Tired but quite content.
Grateful for another day of life
That was well-spent.
