After my oldest daughter was accepted into the college of her choice, she decided to audition for the marching band. She had been playing the clarinet for six years and wanted to continue improving her skills. She was thrilled to be accepted into the group and started making preparations for her new adventure. Each fall the marching band program holds a week-long camp prior to the start of the semester. She had to move into her dorm several days earlier than the typical student so she could attend the camp. Her roommates wouldn’t arrive until later in the week, and
Today I was busy embracing life, I almost forgot to write, So I’ll give you a tiny summary As eve turns into night. I took a little road trip With my dear hubby in tow, Off to see our college girl In eastern Idaho. Eating, shopping, laughing, Catching up was done, Then cheering at the football game, I wish our team had won. We finished with a cello recital So beautiful and rare, Then one last hug and wave goodbye, It’s hard to leave her there. We’re on our way back home now, Tired but quite content. Grateful
