Out in my yard today… sunny and a bit breezy, 30 degrees according to my thermometer.  We have been having unseasonably warm weather for the past several weeks and my yard is a bit confused.  When my husband was taking down the outside Christmas lights a couple of weeks ago he discovered several clumps of emerging daffodils!  Several of the trees and bushes have broken bud and I found this today… little peaches on my peach tree!  In the middle of January!  Are you kidding me?!  I found a least a dozen of these tiny guys.  Dear Mother Nature, Just

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”~ Jeremiah 29:11 * This verse puts a smile on my face… I always tell my girls that His plans for me included giving me a “Hope” and a “Brianna.” So much to look forward to in 2012!

A new day, a new month, a new year! In years past, I would make a long list of resolutions that I would rarely keep and then proceed to feel guilty about not following through with my intentions.  Not exactly a process that produced change.  A couple of years ago I determined that I would choose a single word that would be my “theme” for the duration of the coming year.  I have discovered that it is so much easier to focus on living in accordance with just one word rather than trying to satisfy a long list of goals.  So,

Out in my yard today… a chilly December day with a high of 34 degrees on my thermometer.  Sunny, which is a bit deceptive considering the cold air.  It snowed a little bit yesterday and there are a few traces of the white stuff left in the shady parts of the yard.  I hope it snows some more soon because the landscape is looking pretty brown and drab. I’m grateful for… the pot of potato soup bubbling away on my stovetop.  Hot soup on a cold day = happiness! One of my favorite things… is listening to my girls tell

The month of November has come to a close, and so ends my month-long gratitude project.  The above is a collage of everything from my daily posts.  As you can see, I am so incredibly blessed!  Thanks-living is truly life-changing.    “Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” ~Melody Beattie
